Five Core Articles of Faith and Doctrine of the 2x2's

(COONEYITES)

By Gene D. - After 40 years of professing and many attempts to extract from or confirm the beliefs of and by the workers, these five teachings represent my understanding of the basic core doctrine of the “truth” or Two-by-Two's or Cooneyites. 10-21-98

The Bible tells us repeatedly that we will eventually and inevitably begin to resemble the people we spend time with. If we walk with the wise we will become wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm (Proverbs 13:20 ).

Disarming the Powers of Darkness

By Eric Barger & David Benoit

Product Description:

Eric's newest book (with co-author David Benot) is designed to lead the reader to new heights in spiritual victory. Includes chapters on: The Armor of God, The Blood of Christ, the Battle Cry of Praise - outlining the victory God has given to His Church through the pages of His Word!

(1.) THE HOLY SCRIPTURE

The 2x2's or “truth” generally believe and teach that the Holy Scripture is the inspired Word of God, however, it is a dead book, to be revealed to individualsthrough the Spirit prior to 1897, however any revelation of which had died out completely. Since that time, as evidenced by the teachings of exclusivity and the Living Witness Doctrine, any revelation of God and opening of the Word of God in the Holy Scripture can only be accomplished by the Spirit through the preaching of the “WORKERS, (living witnesses) who have the only true and correct interpretation thereof.

(2.) THE GODHEAD

As a general rule, “the truth (2x2's) express a belief in God the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit, but NOT as generally accepted in the concept of the Trinity or that of a Triune Godhead. The “truth” or 2x2's do NOT recognize, believe in nor teach a TRIUNE GOD, eternally existing in three persons - - God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit. They believe God the Father, the son of God and Holy Spirit are NOT co-equal, not co-identical in nature, not co-equal in power and glory. They believe God the Father, the son of God and Holy Spirit do NOT have the same attributes or perfections.

(3.) THE PERSON AND WORK OF CHRIST

(A.)   The 2x2 (truth) WORKERS almost universally deny the deity of Jesus, however, most interviewed will admit to him being divine. That Jesus was God in the flesh is generally denied and scorned. Jesus is generally considered as only a representative of God, a way shower, an example, his mission being to establish his way and ministry which is the same 2x2 ministry and way on the earth today.

(B.)   The 2x2's (truth) usually believe and teach Jesus to be the son of God the Father, who created Jesus at some time in the eons past, then in time, Jesus was conceived of the Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary with the sin nature of Adam, coming to be a perfect example, a pattern minister, to establish his ministry and show the only way, which is the same ministry or “truth” and 2x2 way on earth today.

(C.)   They generally believe and teach that this life is equal to or more important than his death, through which he created God's only accepted ministry and the only WAY to heaven, being that of the 2x2's of the “truth” as revealed to and given by the WORKERS.

(D.)   They generally believe and teach that Jesus ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God and is interceding for his people, only those continuing faithfully in the 2x2 way or “truth.”

(E.)   The 2x2's generally believe and teach that Jesus could have sinned and lost his own salvation, but was only able to live a sinless life by the power of the Spirit and SELF DENIAL, by the cutting off of sinful thoughts and lust in his mind.

(4.) THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

(A.)   It is generally accepted, believed and taught in the “truth” or the 2x2 way, that the Holy Spirit is an “IT” or thing. The Holy Spirit is believed and considered to be a force, or a feeling. The existence of or the concept of the Holy Spirit as a person or a being as a part of the Godhead or the Trinity is denied and condemned. The Spirit is believed and taught to be the demeanor or attitude of the individual. (Hence the BAD SPIRIT label for anyone not in the good graces of the WORKERS).

(B.)   The 2x2's or “truth” appear to believe and consider the Holy Spirit to be impotent as the supernatural agent in regeneration of or the baptizing of all believers into the Body of Christ. Any work of and by the Holy Spirit must first be revealed by and delivered only through the Living Witnesses or (WORKER'S ministry).

(C.)   It appears to be universally believed and taught that the concept of the Holy Spirit indwelling and sealing believers until the day of redemption is to be denied and scorned.

(D.)   The 2x2's generally believe the Holy Spirit is unable to be the Divine Teacher who guides all believers into all truth, but must be given deliverance by and through the Living Witnesses (WORKERS). The “RIGHT SPIRIT” is believed to the the proper attitude, demeanor or respect, and submission particularly to the Living Witnesses or WORKERS.

(5.) SALVATION

(A.) The 2x2's, generally, believe and teach that Salvation can only be attained by and through the Living witness Ministry (WORKERS). For any person to have any hope of salvation or be allowed baptism into the 2x2 group, one must completely accept the WORKERS and their message, while fully acknowledging any salvation experience prior to “PROFESSING” through the WORKERS as being of the devil.

(B.) The 2x2's generally believe and teach that the blood of Christ is INSUFFICIENT for any hope of Salvation. Salvation can only be accomplished by an appropriate combination of works by the individual. Those works are generally taught and accepted as being in and of the 2x2 group, and keeping in the good graces and respect of the workers, which must be accomplished by complete and total submission to the WORKERS, as well as, acceptance of and adherence to all the unwritten rules.

(C.) The 2x2's or “truth” generally believe and teach that the shed blood of Jesus is NOT sufficient for salvation and that Jesus (either failed to, could not or did not), accomplish redemption through his death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, but that justification must be accomplished by works (one of which is to continue until death in the 2x2 way) before redemption can be assured and therefore, salvation can never be secure or known until death.

I Peter 5:8-10

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
